What’s the deal with Greg’s fancy plane? Why is he hiding where it’s at? He didn’t used to hide it. We used to be able to spot where it was. Shouldn’t we know where he’s at? I mean, Greg works for us. The people of Montana. Well, he acts like he works for some of us - mostly those Republicans.

There’s this website called FlightAware where you can track most any plane, commercial, or private, like Greg’s. We used to be able to could see if Greg’s plane was in Bozeman, or in that rtizy place Sun Valley, Idaho. Or maybe Tuscany, in Italy, where he could be drinking wine and snacking on BBQ’d rare songbirds. Yes, some people do things like that. But we don’t know, since we can’t track Greg’s plane anymore.

This is Greg’s plane, a Pilatus PC-12/47E with the tail number N1247E. It’s registered to the Bozeman Technology Incubator, Inc., Greg’s business.

Private planes ain’t cheap. And the upkeep? You got to feed them a lot more than oats and water to keep them flying. But Greg does pretty well with his business. In 2018, he had an estimated net worth of $189,334,335, (Greg Gianforte - Net Worth • OpenSecrets), figured out from data he had to file to run for the US House. That plane looks like it has a serious hankering for oats, and all day long.

But Greg (or someone at the Bozeman Technology Incubator) decided on July 4th, 2023 to hide the tracking information for the plane. So now if you go to that tracking page at Live Flight Tracker - N1247E - FlightAware, all you see is this:

Hmm…. “This aircraft (N1247E) is not available for public tracking per request from the owner/operator.”

I wonder why?

Maybe Greg is embarrassed that he’s got sort of a small plane. I mean, look at it. It’s kind of a cute little thing, with that fancy paint job. I don’t think someone did that wth a spray can. Maybe Greg is embarrassed that it’s only got one engine, and it’s not a jet. It’s certainly not as big as Trump’s or Musk’s or another of those billionaires’ jet planes. Maybe Greg is embarrassed he doesn’t run with the real big boys. Maybe that’s why he’s hiding his plane.

But here at Montana GOP LOL, we will keep an eye on things. If Greg suddenly decides to let us know where he’s at, we’ll start tracking that cute little plane right here. In the mean time, we have to take a minute and think: just what is Greg hiding?
